How much does eBay charge UK business sellers in 2026?
Business sellers pay a category-based final value fee, most commonly between 9.9% and 12.9% excluding VAT, plus a per-order fee of £0.30 (£0.40 on orders over £10 since 12 February 2026), plus a 0.35% regulatory operating fee. VAT at 20% is added to eBay fees, and is reclaimable if you are VAT registered.
Does eBay charge fees on postage?
Yes. The final value fee is calculated on the total the buyer pays, which includes the postage you charge. If you charge £4.99 postage, eBay takes its percentage of that too.
Do private sellers pay eBay fees?
Since October 2024, UK private sellers pay no final value fees on most categories. eBay charges the buyer a Buyer Protection Fee instead. If you buy to resell, HMRC treats you as a business seller regardless of your account type.
What is the eBay regulatory operating fee?
A 0.35% charge on the total sale amount introduced in 2024 to cover eBay marketplace compliance costs. With VAT it works out at roughly 0.42%.
How much does Promoted Listings cost?
You set an ad rate between 1% and 20% of the final sale price excluding postage. It is only charged when a buyer clicks your promoted listing and then buys within 30 days.
